MADE IN ITALY BILL APPROVAL, PRESIDENT CAPUTI:
“RECOGNIZED THE STRATEGIC ROLE OF HISTORICAL TRADEMARKS IN PROMOTING THE ITALY SYSTEM”
Rome, December 21, 2023
“The approval of the DDL Made in Italy marks a historic step in the enhancement and protection of Italian excellence and recognizes the strategic role of Historical Trademarks in promoting Sistema Italia, as incubators of values that together give rise to a tangible reality, a heritage of knowledge, skills, objectives, history, organization and communication with a unique and unrepeatable identity.”
Thus Massimo Caputi, President ofAssociation of Italian Historical Trademarks following the final approval of DDL Made in Italy.
“We welcome the inclusion by the government and Parliament of Historical Trademarks in several points of the measure: from the National Day of Made in Italy, for which our Association is expressly called upon to make an organizational contribution in the initiatives on April 15, to the recovery by Mimit of Historical Trademarks that intend to cease operations or have not been used for at least five years. The Historical Trademarks will also play an important role with the establishment of the ‘Business and Skills’ Foundation and the Licei of Made in Italy: a unique opportunity to contribute to the dissemination of Italian business culture to the younger generations of students.”
There are about 460 companies and more than 640 Historical Trademarks registered in the Uibm-Mimit Registry to date, with a turnover of more than 40 billion euros and about 65 thousand employees. The introduction of Historical Trademarks in the DDL Made in Italy is linked to the centrality of the industry: companies that intend to preserve their Enterprise Culture, a national baggage of excellence and the “Mother Tree” of Made in Italy.
Upcoming events will be the exhibition of the Trademarks that have made Italy great, which will be set up at Palazzo Piacentini, home of Mimit, from the end of January and for about two months, and the issuance in the new year of an ordinary postage stamp dedicated to ‘Association of Italian Historical Trademarks as recognition by the state for the activity of enhancing and protecting the country’s historical excellence.
