First National Meeting of the Young People of Historical Brands: a new chapter for Made in Italy
On 6 February 2025, the First National Meeting of Young People of Historical Brands, an event of great importance for the future of Italy's industrial heritage, was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy in Rome. The initiative represented an important moment of confrontation involving experts, institutional representatives and young entrepreneurs.
The event was attended by the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Senator Adolfo Urso, who emphasised the importance of protecting Made in Italy and involving the new generations in the path of growth and innovation. During his speech, the Minister recalled how Historical Brands are at the heart of national identity and ‘Italian savoir-faire,’ pointing out that the milestone of one thousand registered Historical Brands is now close at hand.
The central moment of the meeting was the presentation of the ‘Manifesto for 2030’, the strategic document drawn up by the Young Group of the Italian Historical Trademark Association. This document proposes an innovative and sustainable industrial vision for the future, addressing key issues such as generational transition, sustainability and the competitiveness of historic companies in the global context. The Manifesto is in line with the initiatives promoted by the ‘Made in Italy 2030 Green Paper’, currently undergoing public consultation.
The event also officially sanctioned the birth of the Gruppo Giovani (Youth Group) of the Associazione Marchi Storici d'Italia, made up of over forty young entrepreneurs and managers. The Group's representatives aim to stimulate dialogue between the generations, encourage the sharing of experiences and develop strategies to ensure the continuity and enhancement of the Historical Brands. According to Cav. Armando de Nigris, President of the Young Group and Vice-President of the Association, the creation of this group stems from the awareness that the new generations will operate in entrepreneurial scenarios that are profoundly different from those of the past, making a systemic approach necessary to preserve the value of Made in Italy.
The Meeting represented an important networking opportunity, allowing participants to exchange ideas and create synergies to face the challenges of the future together.
Thanks to the large number of participants and the enthusiasm shown, this first edition has established itself as a key event for the sector, laying the foundations for new initiatives to ensure the growth and competitiveness of Private Label companies.
