Association Historical Trademarks: “Youth Group” born, “Manifesto for 2030” presented at MIMIT

Rome, Feb. 6, 2025 – The Youth Group ofAssociation of Italian Historical Trademarks was born today in the presence of Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy. Composed of more than forty young managers, the Group protects, preserves and enhances Italy’s industrial and entrepreneurial heritage, aiming to promote its future competitiveness.

“The Historical Trademarks represent a wealth of knowledge and skills that define national identity.” Comments Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso. “Since 2020, with the establishment of the Special Register, 968 applications have been submitted and 813 granted, confirming Italy’s extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit, which places us among the top four countries in terms of export value. Protecting and enhancing our production system is a priority: in the Green Paper Made in Italy 2030, soon to become a White Paper, we outlined a strategy to strengthen its competitiveness. A path based on the four ‘I’s’ that make Italy a protagonist in the world: Identity, Innovation, Internationalization and Artificial Intelligence.”

“The desire to establish the Youth Group of ‘Association of Italian Historical Trademarks stems from the realization that our children and grandchildren will carry out business activities in different contexts than those in which we have operated,” comments Cav. Del Lav. Armando de Nigris, president of the Youth Group and vice president ofAssociation of Italian Historical Trademarks. “Today, generational changeover is a reality that touches not only large companies, but also small and medium-sized enterprises: in order for our heritage and know-how to be preserved, a systemic approach by the government and institutions that incentivizes continuity is essential. We must guard the “Italian know-how,” because this is now the hallmark of Made in Italy”.

Precisely in order to initiate a dialogue with the institutions, the “Manifesto for 2030” was presented, a document that, in light of the “Green Book Made in Italy 2030” prepared by MIMIT, proposes a strategic vision to enhance Historical Trademarks as pillars of Made in Italy and promoters of a sustainable and innovative industrial policy to 2030. Ten points that address issues such as sustainability, training and innovation, highlighting the importance of promoting a strategy that encourages generational transition including taxation, disincentivizes counterfeiting and relocation, and strengthens the link between Historical Trademarks and territories of origin, protecting local production traditions.

“The Manifesto for 2030 aims to propose a strategic vision to enhance Historical Trademarks as a pillar of Made in Italy and promoters of a sustainable and innovative industrial policy to 2030.” Commented Tommaso Inghirami, Coordinator of the Association’s Youth Group Historical Trademarks. “The Manifesto is intended to be a guide for dialogue with the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, other stakeholders in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the Italian production system by ensuring generational transmission and continuity of values. Our demands to the institutions are listed in 10 points and range from protecting and promoting the historical brand, to supporting generational change and enhancing family business, to integrating sustainability as a strategic value through synergy between business and territory. Each of these 10 points was conceived by the Youth Group of the Association of Italian Historical Trademarks aware that they are heirs to a unique industrial heritage in the World that must be protected, defended and promoted by combining tradition with innovation.

“Our Youth Group aims to serve as a point of reference for discussion among new generations of entrepreneurs and managers, creating a space for dialogue and synergy to share challenges, solutions and strategies to support the renewal of incumbent companies.” Added Federica Morgante, Coordinator of the Association’s Youth Group Historical Trademarks. “The goal is to strengthen collaboration between businesses, institutions and youth realities, facing future challenges together with a shared vision. As young entrepreneurs, we are proud to be part of or be able in the future to be part of historic companies, the priceless heritage of our country, inspired by the values of tradition, quality and authenticity, and combining them with responsible innovation that looks to the future, always mindful of social and environmental impacts. With a view to cross-valuing management under 40, the Group is open to all young executives of “Historical Trademarks” companies, whether from within or outside the founding families.
