First General Assembly closed, new President’s Council elected

Rome, January 27, 2023 – The first General Assembly ofAssociation of Italian Historical Trademarks, the economic backbone of Made in Italy, was held yesterday in Rome, during which the new President’s Council was elected that will remain in office for the next four years: President Massimo Caputi, Terme di Saturnia, Deputy Vice President Roberto Busso, Gabetti; Councilors Vice Presidents: Alessia Antinori, Marchesi Antinori; Ugo Giorcelli, Benetton; Pier Paolo Rosetti, Conserve Italia; Francesco Vena, Lucano 1894; Tommaso Inghirami, Inghirami; Bernabò Bocca, Sina Hotels; Nicola Arnone, Acqua Lete; Armando De Nigris, Aceto De Nigris 1889, Pietro Giovanni Zoroddu, Adnkronos, Gianluca Brozzetti, Buccellati, Lorenzo Canella, Canella, Stefano Crechici, Modiano, Andrea Ravazzolo, Ravazzolo, Giovanni Roncoroni, Roncoroni 1881, Massimo Toschi, Toschi Vignola, Antonio Zacchera, Zacchera Hotels.

There are about 500 Historical Trademarks of national interest registered in the Special Register of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, but there are tens of thousands of companies in Italy that are at least 50 years old.

In the preliminary meeting, the Founding Members – Antinori, Benetton, Conserve Italia, Ekaf, Gabetti, Inghirami, Lucano 1894, Terme di Saturnia – outlined the Association’s Programmatic Lines for 2023 and approved the entry of important companies holding Historical Trademarks: Adnkronos, Buccellati, Sina Hotels and Terme di Montepulciano.

“At last Italy has also understood the need to enhance the Historical Enterprises that are the backbone of Made in Italy. A great path of strengthening the Historical Trademarks, in view also of the strong sensitivity of Ministers Urso and Lollobrigida to productive excellence and the Made in Italy” is in sight. This is what Association President Massimo Caputi said.

The Assembly was preceded in the afternoon by a confidential webinar organized in collaboration with Invitalia on the Enterprise Safeguard Fund, instituted by Decree Law 34/2020, which can be accessed by companies holding Historical Trademarks or those wishing to acquire a Historical Trademark. Speakers for Invitalia were Prof. Ernesto Somma, Head of Incentives and Innovation, and Eng. Paolo Alberto De Angelis, Head for the Fund, who explained how to access and use the resources, about 1 billion euros until 2035.
