A success, this, crowned today by the ceremony of issuing and philatelic cancellation of the stamp dedicated to the Association, held in the presence of Minister Adolfo Urso.

“The Historical Trademarks enhance our entrepreneurial identity, and this stamp, dedicated to the Association that represents them, is an important piece of our memory that fits perfectly with the strategy we are pursuing to protect and promote the excellence of Made in Italy,” commented Minister Adolfo Urso. “Our vision is well defined and is based on three directions: identity, innovation and internationalization. An example of this is the Framework Law of Made in Italy: a landmark measure marking a turning point in the country’s industrial policy that aims to safeguard the production identity of our supply chains and discouraging relocation. We intervene across the board by stimulating and protecting the growth of strategic national supply chains, combating counterfeiting and training new skills in view of the global challenges ahead. Let’s pursue a serious policy to make enterprise Italy stronger” he concluded.

“Among the ten historical enterprises still active worldwide, as many as six are Italian and boast seven to 10 centuries of history. ” commented Massimo Caputi, president of the Association Historical Trademarks. “The Historical Trademarks are custodians of Italian industrial culture in the world: they constitute a heritage of excellence for our country, which should be protected, enhanced and promoted. We are proud to be here today because this stamp, dedicated to the Association Historical Trademarks, is further testimony to the validity of the work we are doing on behalf of Business and the country“.
In fact, the Association represents many companies that are registered in the Special Register of Italian Historical Trademarks of National Interest, which was established by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy with the aim of tracking and enhancing companies and trademarks that have been active for more than 50 years in Italy, and whose membership has grown by more than 30 percent in one year, from about 500 trademarks to more than 660, for a total of 480 registering companies.
Of the Association’s 50 affiliates, 21 percent are based in Lombardy, 15 percent in Emilia Romagna, and 13 percent in Tuscany. Agribusiness clearly prevails, making up 40 percent of member companies, followed immediately by textiles, 20 percent, and hospitality, 15 percent.
The Association is pushing for the enactment of new regulations in favor of Historical Trademarks that encourage the consolidation of Italian brands in the world, the granting of tax breaks for the enhancement of Historical Trademarks, the optimization of the use of the Fund for the Safeguarding of Historical Trademarks managed by Invitalia. Among the Association’s significant projects is the networking of the Enterprise Museums of Historical Trademarks, an immense heritage at the service of new generations.
