These are the numbers that emerged from the Annual Meeting of the Association Historical Trademarks, entitled “Beyond history: identity in motion. The value of Historical Trademarks in the changing Italy,” which was held today in the beautiful setting of De Montel – Terme di Milano.
“Membership in the Special Registry of Historical Trademarks, established by MIMIT, is steadily growing.”
Said Massimo Caputi, President of the Association Historical Trademarks.
“Our businesses recognize its value in the fight against Italian soundig and counterfeiting: over the years it has been confirmed as a fundamental tool for the promotion and protection of Made in Italy in the world. As an association, we are convinced of the importance of public-private collaboration, which is why we are working on a series of ad hoc measures with the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy aimed at promoting our industrial and entrepreneurial heritage.”
In fact, the Association is working on improving the Safeguard Business Fund and Historical Trademarks, in order to allow access to it for reasons of expansion and development as well. Also central is the enhancement of the Patent Box regime, with the introduction of Historical Trademarks of National Interest among intangible assets to enhance the intangible identity heritage of historical businesses. Special attention, finally, to SMEs: the Association is working on the introduction of strong incentives for the involvement of small and medium-sized companies that own historical trademarks in the ITS, PCTO and Licei training paths of Made in Italy and is working to simplify the procedures for the defense of these companies by introducing information desks and basic legal assistance.
The Association has also reached an agreement with CNEL to produce the first Report on Historical Trademarks, a study that will focus on the economic and cultural impact of Historical Trademarks on the Italian economy, and to organize the Italian Heritage Forum – Stati Generali del Historical Trademarks of Made in Italy, a national debate among stakeholders involved in the protection, promotion and enhancement of the heritage of Italian companies that aims at the drafting and signing of a shared Official Document for the promotion of Made in Italy.
Great commitment, towards the project of the tourist and cultural circuits of the Business Museums and Company Archives of Historical Trademarks, in collaboration with Museimpresa chaired by Antonio Calabrò: the Association is collaborating with the Foundation Enterprises and Skills for Made in Italy promoting industrial tourism at the Licei of Made in Italy. As part of this cultural endeavor, the exhibition “Identitalia – The Iconic Italian Brands,” visited by more than 20 thousand people, will be hosted from next September 19 at M9 – Museo del ‘900 in Venice Mestre.
