Undersigned Memorandum of Understanding CNEL-. Association of Italian Historical Trademarks

The National Economic and Labor Council andAssociation of Italian Historical Trademarks signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing, disseminating and deepening knowledge about Historical Trademarks and its economic and cultural impact. The agreement is aimed at promoting studies and publications, public outreach campaigns and events, and educational paths and workshops, including in cooperation with schools and universities, on the importance of Historical Trademarks and Made in Italy. The agreement also aims to encourage the implementation of continuing education programs for entrepreneurs and managers, with a focus on intellectual property rights management, innovation and marketing strategies for Historical Trademarks.

CNEL and the Association of Italian Historical Trademarks may identify additional areas and thematic areas of common interest, developing and implementing proposals and operational programs, also with reference to other agreements signed by the Council.

“Valuing Historical Trademarks,” said CNEL President Renato Brunetta, “means strengthening Made in Italy, of which they are an exceptionally important asset. It is a heritage that needs to be protected and made more solid, all the more so in a context such as the present one so profoundly marked by epochal transformations, intervening on a global scale. CNEL is intent on doing its part. And that is why we are signing this Memorandum of Understanding today with the Association Historical Trademarks, as part of a broader strategic path of redefining and revitalizing industrial policy on which we have been embarking for some time in close synergy with MIMIT.”

“The memorandum of understanding signed today marks an important milestone in the enhancement and protection of Italian Historical Trademarks, authentic custodians of our country’s economic, cultural and social identity.” Commented Massimo Caputi, President ofAssociation of Italian Historical Trademarks. “To date, there are more than 800 Historical Trademarks recognized by MIMIT, testifying to the fundamental role of these companies for Made in Italy. Thanks to the collaboration with CNEL, we can foster greater awareness of the strategic importance of these brands, which are not only symbols of Italian know-how in the world, but also engines of innovation. Together we will work to strengthen the competitiveness and excellence of our brands, helping to sustain the productive fabric of our country in a rapidly changing global context.”
