Introduced the Italian Historical Trademark: the international version of the “Historical Trademarks of National Interest”
Rome, March 5, 2025 – TheItalian Historical Trademark, the English-language international version of the “Historical Trademarks of National Interest,” was presented today at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, in the presence of Minister Adolfo Urso.
The initiative, promoted by theAssociation of Italian Historical Trademarks, is a fundamental step for the enhancement of Italian excellence on international markets: from today, companies registered in the Special Register of Historical Trademarks of National Interest will be able to integrate the recognition of “Historical Trademark” with the English language version, thus certifying the originality of their products abroad as well.

“Historical Trademarks are the roots that support and nurture the Italian production fabric, highlighting its stability, strength, flexibility and peculiarities,” stressed Minister Adolfo Urso. This English-language declination will help to enhance the internationalization of our companies and combat the counterfeiting of Italian products and the phenomenon of Italian sounding.”
“The release of the Historical Trademarks of National Interest logo in the English version represents an extraordinary opportunity for our companies. Thanks to this tool, Historical Trademarks will be able to strengthen their identity on international markets, enhancing the true Made in Italy and countering phenomena such as Italian Sounding. This initiative responds to a concrete need of historic Italian companies operating abroad and helps to protect and promote our industrial and cultural heritage in the world. We thank the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy for accepting our petition, confirming once again its commitment to support Italian excellence,” said Massimo Caputi, President of the Association of Italian Historical Trademarks.
The desire to put the Italian wording and logo alongside an international version, officially issued by the Italian state, stems from the need to equip businesses with new tools to combat counterfeiting andItalian sounding.
