At the Terme di Saturnia, the General Assembly elected representatives from Poste Italiane, Mazzetti d’Altavilla and De Cecco to the President’s Council.
The Assembly is now working to present new proposals for the DDL Made in Italy and Budget Law.
Rome, Oct. 2, 2023 – There are 437 companies and 600 Historical Trademarks registered in the Uibm-Mimit Registry, with a turnover of more than 40 billion euros. This is the figure that emerged from the General Assembly ofAssociation of Italian Historical Trademarks, which took place on Saturday, Sept. 30, and Sunday, Oct. 1, at the Terme di Saturnia, a unique and iconic setting in the world of hospitality and wellness that is among the most appreciated in Europe.
The focus of the Assembly will be a discussion on initiatives to enhance and protect the historical excellence of Made in Italy, starting with the formulation of ad hoc regulatory proposals for the benefit of all Historical Trademarks, with the aim of outlining the programmatic lines of the association project for 2024.
Chaired by President Massimo Caputi, assisted by Deputy Vice-President, Roberto Busso, CEO of the Gabetti Group, and Vice-President Alessia Antinori, Vice-President of the family wine company Marchesi Antinori, in the presence of representatives of the associated Italian Historical Trademarks, the Assembly represented a crucial moment of the year by unanimously expressing the strong commitment to preserving the cultural and economic heritage represented by all the Italian companies that have registered their Historical Trademarks with the Mimit Registry, which has now reached 600 and which, with reference to the production companies of the 4 A’s of Made in Italy, expresses a total turnover of about 40.8 billion euros and 65 thousand employees.
“The family of Historical Trademarks registered with the Uibm-Mimit Registry has grown exponentially over the past year and has reached the 600 mark Historical Trademarks registered. Our own research, however, shows that there are about 50,000 companies registered for at least 50 years with the Chambers of Commerce and still active today. So we are talking about the most important productive part of Made in Italy. The one that invests, innovates and faces economic and social changes with courage.” Said Massimo Caputi, president ofAssociation of Italian Historical Trademarks.
“It is well known, however, “ Caputi continued, ” how much in the last two decades, on the push of globalization, dozens of Historical Trademarks, a symbol of excellence in the world of our production sectors, have been acquired by large foreign groups, sometimes without great results in terms of relaunching and promoting the company in the markets and without strong protection of their employees and management.
“After discussions with the government in recent months, we are working to present, during the process already started in the Chamber of Deputies of the DDL Made in Italy, as well as for the next Budget Law, a package of regulatory proposals to introduce ad hoc measures for our Historical Trademarks: from the improvement of the Business Safeguard Fund – to allow its access also for expansion and development of companies with Historical Trademarks – to the free revaluation of the Historical Trademark, from the tax credit for investments in advertising to that for the digitization of our archives that collect a vast cultural and documentary heritage that needs to be enjoyed by all in an innovative way.” Said Deputy Vice President Roberto Busso.
“These are measures that do not impose new burdens on the state and have become indispensable today to preserve the authenticity of Italy’s Historical Trademarks and enhance their contribution to the growth of the national economy.” Busso concluded. Finally, the General Assembly of Historical Trademarks, elected three new presiding directors: Pierpaolo Cito of Poste Italiane, Cesare Mazzetti of Mazzetti d’Altavilla and Pasquale Galante of De Cecco Group.
