Arescosmo joins the Association of Italian Historical Trademarks
The Association of Italian Historical Trademarks announces the entry among its Members of the trademark S Sekur – Arescosmo,S.p.A. registered in the Special Register of Historical Trademarks of National Interest as of April 7, 2025, established by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy (MIMIT).
Arescosmo SpA has its roots in the history of Irvin Manifatture Industriali, an Italian company founded in the 1960s that specialized in the production of textile equipment (mainly parachutes and aerobraking systems) for military applications. In the 1990s, Irvin acquired Sekur, a subsidiary of the Pirelli Group known for rubber technology, consolidating expertise in safety and security systems. Through this transaction, new lines of business and expertise entered the company’s portfolio until the present day, when the core business has focused on solutions for Defense and Security Forces protection. Over time, the company has structured its activities into two main areas of operation: Defense and Space, consolidating specific technological skills and a qualified presence in the respective sectors.”
In the defense sector, Arescosmo has developed a wide range of highly specialized solutions, accruing expertise in the design, qualification and construction of parachutes for transporting people, trajectory stabilizers and braking parachutes for military aircraft. Over time, its offerings have expanded to include body armor and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) kits, strengthening its role in the advanced security sector.
In parallel, the company has developed relevant capabilities in the space sector, providing products and managing system-level technology programs for space applications, as well as expertise-since 2010-in the design and manufacture of ground support equipment for military aviation systems.
