
Italian excellence celebrated in Calcutta: Historical Trademarks stars in evening honoring Angelo Firpo
There was great success for the initiative organized by the Consulate General of Italy in Kolkata, which on Nov. 10 commemorated entrepreneur Angelo Firpo, a pioneer of Italian catering in India, with a gala dinner at the Oberoi Grand Hotel. The event provided a unique opportunity to celebrate the ties between Italy and India, paying tribute to our country’s culture and business tradition.
L’Association of Italian Historical Trademarks is pleased to have sponsored the event and contributed to the excellent success of this initiative that highlighted the excellence of Made in Italy through the presence of Historical Trademarks products of its Associates chosen by the Consulate for this occasion: Lazzaroni, with its famous cookies, Saline di Volterra , a symbol of the Italian salt-making tradition, and Toschi, an icon of the art of Italian liquor and flavors.
The evening was attended by more than 120 guests, including Italian and Indian dignitaries, entrepreneurs, artists and journalists. In the presence of Firpo’s great-grandson Enrico De Barbieri, ambassador of the city of Genoa to the world, Consul General of Italy Riccardo Dalla Costa stressed the importance of preserving and enhancing the Italian cultural and business heritage.
TheAssociation of Italian Historical Trademarks expressed its thanks to the Consulate for its extraordinary activity in promoting the Italian system abroad. “Initiatives such as this one highlight the value of corporate heritage, which is fundamental to strengthening the identity and distinctive values of our brands, keeping historical memory alive and creating authentic connections with the territory and the community,” said Rocco Orefice Director General of the Association.
The evening celebrated not only the memory of Angelo Firpo, but also the importance of supporting and promoting Italian excellence around the world, reaffirming the crucial role of Historical Trademarks in representing Made in Italy as a symbol of quality and tradition.
