2030 AGENDA FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
What concrete initiatives have you already launched or are you planning to address the major ongoing transformations, including the green and ecological transition, digital transformation and sustainability?
“At Olmetex, sustainability is a tangible journey involving products, processes and the organization as a whole. We have invested in photovoltaic systems and will soon establish a local energy community to support the town where our headquarters are located, reducing reliance on traditional energy sources. We also develop increasingly high-performance and sustainable fabrics, with PFC-free solutions and programmes aimed at reducing the use of water and resources, such as water-free printing. Olmetex is also certified according to international programmes and standards, including GOTS, GRS and ISO 9001. Digital transformation accompanies this journey, making processes more efficient and enabling increasingly informed management of data and information.”
INNOVATION
What recent product or process innovation, or innovative communication project, would you like to highlight in terms of the market advantages it has generated?
“One of our most recent process innovations is Hydro Saver, a water-free printing system developed to significantly reduce water consumption and the CO₂ emissions associated with the printing process. The technology expands the possibilities for fabric customization through a more sustainable process, while maintaining high aesthetic and quality standards. Hydro Saver is therefore a tangible example of how technological innovation can contribute to the transition towards more efficient and responsible production processes, while responding to the growing market demand for solutions with a lower environmental impact.”
NEW SKILLS
Based on your experience, what advice would you give to SMEs with a Historic Trademark seeking to bring new skills into their company and integrate them effectively with the family’s younger generations?
“If there is one thing we have learned in over seventy years of history, it is that tradition remains alive only if it continues to evolve. Companies should not be afraid to welcome people with different skills and backgrounds, even when they bring perspectives that differ from established ways of thinking.
Those who know the business can pass on a unique wealth of experience, while those who bring new skills introduce tools, languages and perspectives that help interpret today’s market. Value comes precisely from bringing these two dimensions together, from the ability to share knowledge, learn from one another and turn change into an opportunity for growth.”
