Intesa Sanpaolo is making 30 billion euros available to support SMEs’ exports and international investments
Intesa Sanpaolo is making available a credit line of 30 billion euros for Italian small and medium-sized enterprises that export or intend to strengthen their presence in international markets. The initiative stems from an agreement with Confindustria, SACE, SIMEST, and ICE, with the goal of supporting the international growth of businesses through financing, insurance instruments, and services dedicated to internationalization.
The funds, which will be available over the next three years, can be used to finance exports, foreign direct investment, and production projects carried out in Italy to support expansion into international markets. The credit line will enable companies to meet a variety of needs, ranging from expanding production capacity to building manufacturing facilities and commercial structures in target countries.
The agreement combines the expertise and tools of the various partners, providing SMEs with a comprehensive support system:
- SACE offers the Supplier Credit Policy, which provides protection against commercial and political risks associated with overseas sales on credit terms, while also facilitating the assignment of receivables to the bank.
- SIMEST provides support through the Export Interest Subsidy, which is designed to reduce the cost of factoring receivables, and through equity and subordinated debt instruments to support direct investments abroad.
- Intesa Sanpaolo has entered into agreements with local banks in France, India, and Brazil, with additional partnerships planned by the first half of 2027, to facilitate business operations in those markets.
- ICE supports the search for new customers and business partners through promotional initiatives and the Connecting Markets platform, which enables users to identify industry counterparts in over 170 countries.
- Confindustria strengthens SME engagement through meetings, roadshows, and webinars dedicated to raising awareness of the tools available for internationalization.
For members of the Association of Italian Historical Trademarks, this initiative represents an important opportunity to support their international growth strategies. Member companies will be able to explore access to the tools provided under the agreement to finance exports, develop investments in foreign markets, obtain greater guarantees on trade receivables, and identify new customers and partners. These measures can help strengthen the competitiveness of businesses and enhance the presence of Historical Trademarks in international markets.
