The following data are taken from the UIBM Activity Report and provide an overview of the trends in applications and registrations in the Special Register of Historical Trademarks of National Interest for the period 2021–2025, with 2025 being the most recent year for which data are currently available.

In 2025, applications for inclusion in the Registry exceeded 1,000, reaching a total of 1,131. This figure is consistent with previous years, highlighting the continued interest among Italian companies in having their brands recognized as “historic.”

All applications submitted in 2025 were submitted exclusively online, which is the only method permitted for accessing the Registry.

During 2025, 164 entries were recorded in the Special Register of Historical Trademarks of National Interest, confirming—even for the most recent year for which data is available—the central importance of efforts to protect and promote the historical heritage of Italian companies.

The “Historical Trademarks” designation continues to be a fundamental tool not only for safeguarding the cultural value and identity of businesses, but also as a strategic lever for competitiveness in national and international markets.

That same year, 24 applications were rejected, reflecting a rigorous evaluation process designed to ensure that the requirements for inclusion in the Registry were actually met.
