VIR joins the Association of Italian Historical Trademarks
The Association of Italian Historical Trademarks is pleased to announce the entry among its Members of VIR – Valvoindustria Ing. Rizzio S.p.A., a reality of excellence in the valvolame and faucet sector, registered in the Special Register of Historical Trademarks of National Interest on July 25, 2025.
Founded in 1971 in Valduggia, in the province of Vercelli, in the heart of the Cusio-Valsesia district, VIR has its roots in the local tradition of bronze casting for the artisanal production of bells. A manufacturing legacy that has evolved over time, fully integrated into one of Italy’s most important hubs dedicated to the manufacture of valves and faucets.
The company was born from the intuition and vision of Engineer Savino Rizzio, a leading figure in the industry and former president of AVR and CEIR, who was awarded the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro in 2001. Since the late 1990s, with the entry of his children Giovanniibattista and Valentina into the company, VIR has consolidated a path of steady growth, transforming from a family business to a successful international group. Today the company has branches on three continents, production exceeding 10 million pieces per year and exports worldwide.
A goal achieved in full compliance with its Code of Ethics and based on distinctive strategic assets: an in-house foundry-a rare element in the industry-which enables total quality control from the very first production process; a highly qualified technical department dedicated to the design and construction of solutions capable of anticipating market needs; and constant investment in research and development to increase skills, innovation and competitiveness.
With the entry of VIR, the Association of Italian Historical Trademarks welcomes a reality that best represents the synthesis of industrial tradition, entrepreneurial vision and international projection, helping to enhance the manufacturing heritage of our country.
Welcome Vir to the Historical Trademarks of Italy!
