Elah Dufour S.p.A joins the Association of Italian Historical Trademarks

The Association of Italian Historical Trademarks is pleased to announce that the Elah Dufour S.p.A. Group, owner of the Elah, Dufour and Novi brands, which were recognized as Historical Trademarks of National Interest on September 6, 2024, has joined its membership.

The Elah Dufour Group represents one of the most significant realities of Italian confectionery excellence, thanks to three brands that have spanned more than a century of history: Elah (1909), Novi (1903) and Dufour (1926). Under the leadership of entrepreneur Flavio Repetto, Cavaliere del Lavoro, who between 1982 and 1985 took up the legacy by founding a single industrial reality, the company has consolidated its reputation over time in Italy and abroad, combining tradition, quality and innovation.

Since its origins, the Group has built its success on the careful selection of raw materials and a deep connection with the Piedmont and Liguria territories, where all three brands and many of its specialty confectionery products were born. Elah and Dufour, Genoese companies that brought dessert preparations, puddings and candies to fame, and Novi, now synonymous with Grande Cioccolato Italiano, have been a guarantee of quality and reliability for tens of millions of Italian families for decades.

A key historical step occurred in 1935, when Novi – founded as a cooperative of 470 members – took on the name “S.A. Novi – Chocolate – Candy – Confetti” and built the Novi Ligure plant, still the production heart and headquarters of the Group. In the 1990s, in the process of brand harmonization, the Repetto family moved there, thus consolidating the company’s industrial and territorial identity.

With the entry of Elah Dufour, now led by Guido Repetto, son of founder Flavio, the Association welcomes a company that not only boasts decades of Italian industrial history, but also embodies quality, identity and the ability to innovate in the wake of the national confectionery tradition.
