SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE 2030 AGENDA

What concrete initiatives have you already started or are you planning to respond to the major processes and changes taking place (green and ecological transition, digital transition, sustainability)?

“The ecological transition is one of the goals we are focusing on. We are developing a path that involves a gradual and steady reduction in the environmental impact of production processes throughout the supply chain. This is not an easy task, since for some products we depend on suppliers, over whom we have limited control. For our part, we will strive to use renewable energy, recover by-products and choose environmentally sustainable packaging.”

INNOVATION

What recent product or process innovation or innovative communication project would you like to tell us about in light of the market benefits it has generated?

“Underlying our products is a desire to design and create innovative, high-quality bicycles. For example, today we can make prototypes with 3D printers, speeding up the various creative and technical processes. In addition, leaner and faster procedures allow us to maintain our philosophy of quality and Made in Italy. The latest innovation is the automated warehouse at the Cambiago headquarters, a high-performance facility capable of optimizing storage capacity and order fulfillment.”

NEW SKILLS

In light of your experience, what would you advise SMEs with Historical Trademarks to increasingly open up their businesses to new skills by better integrating them with family generations?

“Colnago is a company that strongly believes in” youth capital,“considering them crucial to growth and supporting them in training. The average age in the company has decreased by about ten years in the last four. In particular, we look for talent in the cycling industry, future designers and design engineers, working with them to help them realize their ideas. We believe that this comparison enriches the skills of both parties, translating into product innovation and service quality.”
